2025-06-03 03:23:53 +0000 UTC View PostI'm back! I'm so sorry to disappear for a while, but I had to process some scary health news. Below is a write up, that explains a little more. I missed interacting with you all, and can't wait to return to posting more frequently.
๐
I wasnโt okay at first. I called friends and family on the long drive home. Through sniffles, I repeated, โItโll be okayโ, a dozen times to each person. They may have believed that sentiment, but for sure didnโt believe that I did. I allowed myself one session of uncontrollable grief on the kitchen floor. Just one. Even in the darkest moments, I never felt alone. My family flew down from WA with less than 48 hoursโ notice. Friends laughed and cried with me for hours on the phone at the absurdity of the universe.

ย A mass was found on my left ovary, and cancer was suspected.
๐
Surgery was longer than expected. The surgical biopsy showed cancerous cells. My family was consulted if a hysterectomy should be carried out while I was already under anesthesia. There was a chance the cancer was only in my left ovary. They made the decision to remove the mass and send out samples for pathology testing from surrounding tissue to see if they were cancerous before removing anything that might be unnecessary.
๐
A week after surgery pathology results were in, โYou won the cancer lottery.โ
๐
Checking my rolodex of memories, I thought, โWhen the fuck did I put my name in that lottery?โ
๐
โIf youโre going to have cancer this is the kind you want. In 12 years of practicing, Iโve had one other patient receive this diagnosis.โ Dr. James explained, my ovarian cancer was caught as early as possible. No chemo would be necessary, but another surgery was a must. My endometrial lining had cancerous cells in it. All reproductive organs would need to be removed.
Weโre monitoring the situation through bloodwork, until I decide it is the right time for the second surgery.

Thank you to @onlyfans who handled the news with their full support, allowing me the time I needed to process and move through this at my own speed.

Warming up is crucial. This is a 12-min pace during my first mile, on a run where I needed an extra long runway mentally and physically to hit my goals for the day. It's not always about dripping sweat, sometimes it's about getting it done at whatever effort you can bring to the table that day.

2025-04-22 13:41:41 +0000 UTC View PostThis week and next week I'm in peak mileage for Alsace on May 16th. It's been a little hard to get back to you in the messages, so thank you for your patience.
.
I was sent a couple pairs of Salomon's, and have been enjoying grabbing miles in them. Any Salomon fans or non-fans out there? Although I am liking them, I'm still leaning towards racing in the Hoka Tectons...I think.
.
Any other shoe recs you think I should try?
Are you ever just hanging out at home and think about how you have the up & down FKT on Handies Peak?

Anyone else loving these warm spring days?
