Last year I went to prison for my involvement in a protest about an increase in police powers which also fell on the day of a vigil mourning a woman who'd been killed by cops in the UK. I do not believe in the police, nor the criminal justice system. I went to the press about how I was handled by the CJS which only made my situation worse, however, I do not regret shining a light on the sheer amount of exploitation and corruption that exists within the institutions allegedly designed to protect us. I was given 9 months for a completely fabricated crime. As I began probation I realised that being an activist for over a decade wasn't going to work in my favour, and it didn't. My license got extended, I was made to come to appointments, asked to snitch on people (I didn't, obvs) and had to abide by pedantic rules. Today was my last appointment, and on the 29th of July I'll be free from license meaning I'll be a free citizen. I'll always have my conviction, not the one the CPS gave, but the conviction that I did nothing wrong, and I will continue to fight for those who are criminalised by the police and the state.

I've met someone recently who is really enthusiastic about running. I've met a lot of enthusiastic runners to be fair but this person is different. This person is handsome. I want to shag this person.
I met him at a gig last Wednesday and then we had a little slumber party this weekend. The thing that struck me most about this person was their zest for life - their enthusiasm, their energy. These qualities always stick out to me because they are qualities I wish to possess too.
As some of you know I joined the gym last month because I want to shift a little weight and I wish to regain some strength and stamina. I had a tiny break from this because of my neck pain and a leg injury but this week I'm determined to get back into the fitness routine. In fact yesterday I went running for the first time in months. And this morning? I got up at 5:30AM, had a banana and went for a run in the park. I feel great.
Healing can come in many forms and as someone who has suffered with mental illness for a very long time I am always open to new strategies. Exercise has been a long term foe of mine but since prison we have reconciled and I can see how it is an ally to my happiness rather than a hindrance.
I feel very grateful to this man for being a source of inspiration. I only hope this cardio gives me enough stamina to fuck him to oblivion.
